MEET A GREAT WOMAN

REV DR. APOSTLE ESTHER BADEJOKO OLUWAGBAMILOWOIYA

Eighty years ago, Rev.(Dr) Esther Badejoko Oluwagbamilowoiya was born at Odo Ijoka, Akure in Ondo state to the family of late Pa Ajayi Falodun and late Adekunmilola Ajayi nee Odundun of Akure land.
Her family belongs to the group of idol worshippers in Akure. Our mother was raised as normal child but was not privileged to have formal education. On a faithful day at the age of ten,
Mama was in front of father’s house with some other friends and relatives, she saw some people in white glittering garment descending from heaven and that they entered into father’s house. As a little child having nothing to hide she quickly told everybody around her what she saw. The whole family was filled with the news but was mistaking for evil sign because there was a death of a child in the family few days before the time. What she saw then was misinterpreted as the coming of another death in the family without knowing that it was the Almighty God that visited for a special purpose. The matter was brought to the Elders forum and she was summoned to the community meeting headed by Chief Asamo of Akure. She was interrogated on what she said; she boldly narrated what God has made her to see. She was drilled many times but stood firm on her words. At the end the Chief stood up to rescue her like the Gamelia to the Apostle and she was released to her parents. Since that day, she was nicknamed “Bade Alaso Funfun”(Bade the child with white garment). Because of the shame, she was taken away by one of her Uncle to the Farm where she was trained as a pleasant farmer.
She attended Christ Apostolic Church” Egbeidi now referred to as CAC Oke Igan”. She did not attend any bible institute, but Spiritually, she was taught in her dreams for 13 years on how to read and use Bible verses effectively. At the end of her schooling in 1954 she was issued a certificate in her dream and that was the day she received Holy Spirit Baptism.
After her spiritual education encounter, she was inspired to read Yoruba Bible and Hymn Book very well whereas she cannot read from any other book. She got married in the year 1957 and gave birth to her first year 15 years after.
Mama valued her relationship with God far more than she valued momentary pleasure. She has clear grasp of moral principle, she is spiritually, morally, mentally, and physically stable. The woman is a faithful servant of God who walks in covenant and in spirit with God. No wonder, she received a hand laying among the group of Evangelists by late Prophet Joseph Ayodele Babalola in a meeting at Christ Apostolic Church,Oke Isegun,Akure in 1958. She was opportune to meet some reputable men of God among them were late Prophet Apere Igbagbo, Pastor Medayese, Baba ni Saki est. She got baptized  in the year 1959.
“Mama” had been an Evangelist before founding the church of God. She had engaged herself in a missionary assignment throughout the length and breadth of Ondo State by actively spreading the gospel and sharing her faith in Christ….
Through her ministry came MORE THAN CONQUEROR INTERDENOMINATIONAL PRAYER MEETING, held every Tuesday of the week at Mount Oluwagbamilowoiya of The Salvation of Christ Mission Assembly, klm 4 Ado/Owo express way, Akure where God has been performing varieties of miracle through Mama’s Son, Pastor Peter Oluwagbade Olaniyan since February 2007.
Mama give thanks to God every March for calling her into His vineyard…..

Culled from the 40 years Anniversary of The Salvation of Christ Mission Assembly, Magazine.
